24hr Blood Pressure Monitoring
This test gives a recording of your blood pressure over a 24 hour period allowing your doctor to get a more accurate assessment of your blood pressure.
Antenatal Care
We are part of the government Combined Care Scheme which enables women to 6 free antenatal visits and 2 post natal visits to check their health and their baby's.
Blood Tests
Blood tests are carried out by our nurse on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. We provide routine and specialised blood testing.
Cardiac Clinics
Patients who are at risk of heart disease can attend this clinic where they are comprehensively assessed and monitored on a regular basis by our nurse Denise.
Cervical Smear Tests
These are available FREE for eligible women between the ages of 25 and 60 and are carried out by our Nurse most afternoons. To register for your free smear test please ring 1800 454555. Upon receipt of a smear call letter you can then avail of this service at Raheny Medical. We also offer private smear tests for any woman outside the above criteria.
Childhood vaccinations
We are approved by the HSE to give all childhood vaccinations.
Cryotherapy
An effective way of getting rid of warts quickly using liquid nitrogen. Most cases will be covered by private health insurance e.g. Vhi, Quinn, Hibernian.
Dietician
We have a resident dietician who is here to advise you on all aspects of weight control and diet/nutrition issues. Book an appointment today!
Family Planning
We provide contraception advice and prescriptions for The Pill, Implanon, Depo-provera as well as Mirena coil insertion.
Full Medicals
We provide a comprehensive Medical Check-Up service for both men and women which includes a full written report summarising your current state of health. The full cost of this may be covered by your private health insurance. Ask reception for details or click here.
Gardasil Vaccination
A course of 3 vaccinations over 6 months is recommended for girls/women aged between 9 and 26 to prevent Cervical Cancer. We have negotiated a significant discount for this vaccine.
Heart Tracing
If an ECG is requested by one of our doctors this can be carried out generally on the day of your appointment by our nurse.
Insurance Medicals
We carry our Private Medical Attendants reports for Life/Income Protection Assurance purposes, Pension Term Assurances etc.
Mole Mapping
A Mole Mapping technician visits the practice regularly to take close-up photographs of which can be used to monitor any suspicious moles you may have. Ask your doctor for more information.
Pre-employment Medicals
We carry out independent medicals for future employees.
STD Screening
We provide a confidential screening service for all major sexually transmitted infections.
Skin Problems
Dr Lena Healy performs full skin appraisals including, diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions, punch biopsies and removal of lumps and bumps under local anaesthetic.
Sleep Aponea Testing
Do you or your partner snore? Feel tired all day? You may be at risk of sleep apnoea and our simple overnight test may be what you need. Talk to one of our doctors.
Travel Vaccinations
We offer a comprehensive pre-travel health check, vaccination and travel advice service. We advise you to book at least 6 weeks in advance of your trip to ensure adequate cover for any possible vaccines. Raheny Medical is a registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.
Ultrasound Tests
In partnership with Global Diagnostics, we provide ultrasound examinations in the practice. The scans are carried out by a specially trained Ultrasonographer using a portable ultrasound machine. This service is available on Wednesdays.
Urine Tests
These can be done at anytime by our Practice Nurse to check for infections such as cystitis/UTI as well as checking for pregnancy and kidney problems.
